Westar Energy
BTCO provided Westar Energy field engineers digital access to drawings of remote
transmission locations. During this project, BTCO converted frequently used,
large-format engineering drawings into Web-accessible, digital format. More than
20,000 drawings were systematically indexed to enhance access to information
on particular locations. The digitization process segregated drawings into specific
engineering disciplines, allowing engineers to review information applied to
a unique requirement. Today, Westar engineers have access to essential drawings
through wireless technology - eliminating the retrieval process of traveling
to a central location and carrying large format drawings in the field.
